cooktown2 space Itinerary:

Day One:
You will be collected by our air-conditioned four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle. Travel north along the Captain Cook Highway, one of Australia’s most scenic coastal drives towards the
World Heritage Listed Daintree National Park. You will cross
the Daintree River by cable ferry and journey through this spectacular example of Mother Nature, which contains the highest number of plant and animal species that are rare, or threatenedby extinction.

Your experienced tour guide will enlighten your journey with incredible stories and history as you continue on the 4WD only Bloomfield Track. This will take you through some of the most spectacular scenery in Australia. Crossing rivers and climbing mountain ranges. We stop for Lunch at the famous Lion’s Den Hotel (est. 1875). North Queensland’s oldest running bush pub. We continue to the unique geological oddity, which is Black Mountain, surrounded in mystery and spoken of in ancient Aboriginal legend. We arrive in Cooktown where you will have a 360 degree view from Grassy Hill of the Endeavour River and Cooktown. Have your camera ready! Overnight Cooktown

Day Two:
The day is free for you to explore Cooktown at your own pace. Take an optional tour of Cooktown with a local, or an optional tour with Nugal-warra Aboriginal ElderElder, Willie Gordon and visit his traditional lands and rock art sites. Visit the World Class James Cook Museum or stroll along the shores of the Endeavour River. The main street has a charming and historical atmosphere, which still prevails. You can experience the unspoilt beauty of the area, which remains much the same as when Captain Cook knew it in 1770.

Late afternoon depart Cooktown via the inland road, The Mulligan Highway, traveling through a diverse landscape of cattle stations and the Palmer River Gold mine region, which is the Outback of Far North Queensland.
